Maxime Beau

 
 

Maxime Beau is a PhD student investigating modes of information transmission along the output pathway of the cerebellum in behaving rodents. In the course of this work, he pioneered the field of Neuropixels electrode recordings in the cerebellum, writing a software suite to efficiently analyze Neuropixels data (github.com/m-beau/NeuroPyxels) and co-authoring several publications (Kostadinov, Beau et al., 2019, Nature Neuroscience; Tsutsumi et al., 2020, Cell Reports; Steinmetz et al., 2021, Science).

He earned his MSc in neuroscience from Université Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris, and bachelor of Medicine from Université Paris Descartes.

In his free time, he brews espresso and bakes kouign-amanns.
